Buy the Martha Dress sewing pattern from Sew Over It. Designed for wovens, Martha is perfect for summer fabrics like linen and cotton. Depending on the fabric you use, Martha can also double up as a stunning evening dress. She looks effortlessly glam in a luxurious or bold print.

Fitted with darts, the Martha Dress bodice is designed to have a snug fit, with pleats leading into a dramatic long sash. The wrap over bodice allows you to cinch in the waist or leave it a little loose – perfect for after picnic comfort! You have the choice of two skirt lengths: just below the knee or midi. Both work perfectly whether you’re throwing on your trusty white pumps, or dressing up in heels. The bias cut skirt also gives you plenty of swishing potential. The Martha Dress is finished with a centre back concealed zip, and she has in-seam pockets to make her as functional as she is gorgeous.

Suggested fabrics: Light to medium weight woven fabrics such as cotton, poplin, sateen, viscose linen blends, heavier viscoses, viscose twill, stable seersuckers, chambray, stable crepes and brocade. Due to the bias cut skirt, strong directional prints aren’t recommended.

Fabric requirements: Please note that to accommodate the width of the pattern, your fabric must be at least 140 cm wide.

Sizes 6 – 20

Version 1 (midi length hem): 1.40 m wide fabric: 3.7 – 4.5 m.

Version 2 (knee length hem): 1.40 m wide fabric: 3.5 – 4.0 m.

Sizes 18 – 30

Version 1 (midi length hem): 1.40 m wide fabric: 4.8 – 5.7 m.

Version 2 (knee length hem): 1.40 m wide fabric: 4.2 – 5.2 m.

Sizing: UK 6 – 20 and UK 18 – 30 (approx. UK 6 – 20 and UK 20 – 32, based on our standardised size chart). Please also check the designer’s size charts and finished garment measurements.

This pattern is split into two different blocks. The 6 – 20 size range is drafted for a B cup. The 18 – 30 size range is drafted for a D cup.

Notions: 1.5 m of stay tape; 22″ invisible zip.
