Buy the Hove Jacket sewing pattern from In the Folds. The Hove Jacket is a loose-fitting hooded jacket with a sportswear vibe, designed for woven fabrics. With two different styles, it’s the perfect layering piece. It features a fully lined hood, open-ended zip closure (or double-ended zip if you’d prefer), high-low hem, in-seam pockets and pleated back detail. All seams are finished with bias binding or Hong Kong binding for a beautiful and high-end finish.

View A has a dropped shoulder and sleeve with a hem facing. The sleeves on View A are designed to be worn either straight or folded back for a more casual look. View B is sleeveless (creating the look of a dolman sleeve) and is designed to be layered over long-sleeved tops and dresses.

Suggested fabrics: Mid-weight woven fabrics. Consider using cotton twill/drill, cotton duck, linen, linen blends and light to mid-weight denim. Please note the fabric will need enough drape to accommodate the pleats.

Fabric requirements: You will require more fabric if lengthening.

View A: 115 cm (45″) wide fabric: 4.1 – 5 m (4.5- 5.5 yd) // 150 cm (60″) wide fabric: 3.2 – 4.3 m (3.5 – 4.7 yd)

View B: 115 cm (45″) wide fabric: 3.6 – 4.2 m (4 – 4.6 yd) // 150 cm (60″) wide fabric: 3 – 3.9 m (3.3 – 4.3 yd)

Sizing: A – J (approx. UK 6 – 28). Please check the size chart and finished garment measurements.

The Hove Jacket is intended to have a substantial amount of design ease to create an oversized shape, designed for layering. For this reason, it is suggested that you focus on your high bust measurement when selecting your size. This pattern is drafted for a B cup bust. Due to the large amount of ease, it is unlikely you will need to do a full bust adjustment (or small bust adjustment). The pattern is drafted for a height of 170 cm (5’7″). Use the LENGTHEN/SHORTEN lines on the pattern to make alterations to the length.

Notions: Coordinating thread; 55 cm (22″) open-ended zip; 6-10 m (6.5-11 yd) of 25 mm (1″) single-fold bias tape OR 1 m (1.1 yd) of lightweight cotton fabric to make your own.

PDF pattern includes: Instructions; A4/US letter print-at-home pattern (45 pages); A0 copy shop pattern (3 sheets). This pattern has layers so you can print only the size(s) you need.
