Buy the Falda Jacket sewing pattern from Pattern Fantastique. The Falda Jacket was developed using a combination of draping and flat paper pattern making. Its bold, clean shapes combine the classic Chanel tweed with the sensibility of a bomber jacket and the humour and volume of a Victorian era sleeve. The pattern includes two different styles for different fabric weights, so you can wear it in the transitional seasons and in deep winter. Style A has patch pockets and is unlined, while Style B features welt pockets and a full lining.

Style A: Denim and any jacket weight woven fabrics with a similar handle.

Style B: Wool weight coating.

Style B (with facings in same fabric): 120 cm (48″) wide fabric: 250 cm (99″) // 140 cm (56″) wide fabric: 220 cm (87″).

Style B (with separate lighter weight facings): 120 cm (48″) wide fabric: 200 cm (79″) // 140 cm (56″) wide fabric: 180 cm (71″).

Style B separate facings (if using): 120 cm (48″) wide fabric: 50 cm (20″).

Style B lining: 105 cm (42″) wide fabric: 190 cm (36″).

Notions: Open-ended zip, length depends on jacket size; stay tape, 50 cm (19 3/4″); interfacing strips, 2 cm x 100 cm (3/4″ x 39 3/8″) // Style A only: topstitching thread // Style B only: optional interfacing to block fuse main fabric (can replace stay tape and interfacing strips).
