Buy the Bainbridge Pullover sewing pattern from Itch to Stitch. Whether you are strolling in town or hiking up a mountain, the Bainbridge Pullover is here to keep you warm and cosy. With a half-snapped front placket and a stand-up collar, the Bainbridge is an excellent layering piece. The bias-bound hem, sleeve hems and collar add an excellent opportunity for colour contrast.

This sewing pattern is available to buy in the following formats:

– PDF (available to download immediately after purchase). What is a PDF?

– PDF pattern + Printed A0 copy shop (We print out the A0 pattern sheets, but you’ll need to download the digital instructions, as we don’t print these. The PDF files will be emailed immediately after purchase, and the A0 pattern sheets will be dispatched next working day). What is Copy Shop?

If ordering a copy shop pattern, please choose from the following options: sizes 00-20 with A and B cups; sizes 00-20 with C and D cups; sizes 00-20 with a DD cup; sizes 16-40 with a B cup; sizes 16-40 with a C cup; sizes 16-40 with a D cup; sizes 16-40 with a DD cup.

Suggested fabrics:

Primary fabric: Medium to medium-heavy weight knit fabric with 5-15% stretch such as microfleece, sherpa fleece and sweatshirting. Medium weight stretch woven is also acceptable.

Contrast fabric: Stable lightweight woven fabric with no stretch such as quilting cotton and chambray. This fabric is for the front placket.

Bias binding fabric: Stable lightweight woven fabric with no stretch such as quilting cotton and chambray. Ideally, use a fabric that will result in a nice sharp crease when pressed. This can be the same as the contrast fabric.

Fabric requirements:

Primary fabric: 54″ (135 cm) wide fabric: 1 1/4 – 2 3/8 yd (110 – 220 cm).

Contrast fabric: 54″ (135 cm) wide fabric: 1/2 – 5/8 yd (40 – 50 cm).

Bias binding fabric: 54″ (135 cm) wide fabric: 1/2 yd (50 cm). If you use the same fabric for your contrast fabric and bias binding, the amount listed for the contrast fabric is sufficient; no additional fabric is needed.

Sizing: US 00 – 40 (approx. UK 6/8 – 34/36). Sizes 00 – 20 have A, B, C, D and DD cups, and sizes 22 – 40 have B, C, D and DD cups. Please check the size chart and finished garment measurements.

A note from the designer about bust cup options: To determine your cup size, subtract the circumference of your over bust from the circumference of the fullest part of your bust. If the rounded difference is 1″ (2.5 cm), use A cup; 2″ (5 cm), use B cup; 3″ (7.5 cm), use C cup; 4″ (10 cm), use D cup; 5″ (12.5 cm), use DD cup.

Notions: Lightweight woven or weft insertion fusible interfacing; 5 sets of 1/2” (12.5 mm) snap closures with corresponding tool for installation; 46″ (117 cm) of 3/8″ or 1/2” (1 cm or 1.25 cm)-wide straight fusible stay tape (or cut your own using lightweight woven fusible interfacing on the straight grain); pre-made 1″ (2.5 cm) wide single-fold bias tape or 1/2″ (1.25 cm) wide double-fold bias tape (if not making your own).

PDF pattern includes: Step-by-step illustrated instructions; US letter/A4 print-at-home patterns (one for sizes 00-20 and one for sizes 16-40); A0 copy shop files (one for sizes 00-20 and one for sizes 16-40). The layers feature allows you to select your size(s) before printing.
