    Hey @jennystitched,

Of course, that counts!? That’s great! I’m meeting up with a fellow sewist at the end of the month, we’ll probably check out the Liberty exhibition. If you’re free and fancy joining us, let me know.

    Hello lovelies,

Hope you all had a lovely Christmas break! How about we start planning an informal meetup? Please let me know if you’d be interested in any of the following options:

a)The Liberty exhibition – runs until the end of February
b)Fabric shopping in Goldhawk road – which I have not yet managed to do!
    c)Chat over coffee/tea
    d)Any other ideas?

It doesn’t have to be a consensus. Some peeps might be interested in doing one thing, others something else. Please say whether you’d prefer a Saturday meetup or are also available during the week. We could then try and find a date towards the end of January πŸ™‚

    Any suggestions welcome!

Chat guaranteed and we may even manage to get around to doing some of our handsewing in between swopping tips and looking at patterns. If anyone is interested then let me know.

We could finish the day at a pub for a much deserved drink, some food and more sewing chat. If anyone knows the area, please feel free to share any tips on fabric shops to visit and eating/drinking place.

Feel free to pm me if you’d like my contact details. If on the day you’re running late, let me know so we can wait for you or tell you where to find us. Any questions, drop me a line.

I kept checking for tube closure anouncements and couldn’t find anything about Goldhawk road until just now πŸ™ Annoyingly part of Hammersmith and City Line, which includes Goldhawk Road station, will be closed this weekend.

How do you feel about it? Would you prefer to postpone it to Saturday 13? Or shall we meet as planned this Saturday and venture out on replacement buses on a rainy day?

Hello everyone! I am sat in my bedroom back in Devon getting very excited about moving back to London in June now I’ve found this thread! Any meet ups from June onwards I’ll be up for! I am addicted to fabric shopping, I used to go to Berwick St on my lunch break a couple of times a week… but always on my own. I also really want to learn to knit and crochet (I currently only sew really) and it’ll be great to have other people to talk to about dressmaking and all things in that world as my boyfriend really couldn’t care less πŸ˜‰

16 April 2016 10.00 to 16.40. An event some of you may be interested in, especially if you love vintage. A chance to dress up, if you wish, or just enjoy what’s on offer. One of my local sources of sewing supplies is having an anniversary celebration. Check out some of the events and offers over the course of the day.I could not make the link to their newsletter work so the easiest thing is to give a link to our dressmaking club site where I have written some details.
Did you make the “Walkaway Dress” of Sewing Bee fame. Then wear it to the store to enter the contest for the best one (check out the judging time to be announced later on their Facebook page)
Visitors are encouraged to wear their own makes, especially vintage for which there just might be a prize.
This store is two steps away from Tooting Bec tube on the Northern Line. At the end of the day those that have the energy and time could walk(15 minutes) to my house for tea and cake and chat- and possibly sewing if you want to bring something.

My link to the 70 th anniversary event has not appeared. I will try again but I do have difficulty trying to get anything up on this site, be it from iPad or PC, so here goes. http://www.meetup.com/dressmakers/events/230221755/

Ok, still no luck. Well, the 70th anniversary is at the Sewing and Craft Superstore, 300 Balham high Road, London Sw17 and I am sorry that I cannot give you the link to all the events, competitions, prizes etc going on. If anyone cares to check out The London Dressmakers Club on Meetup and check the details I have listed for 17 April they will see the information I was trying to give you.

I will be at the Pattern Review event. I must remember to have a look through my patterns and see if there are any that I know I am not going to make realistically.
