NOTE: Printed pattern pieces are provided for non-rectangular pieces only. Rotary cutting instructions/measurements are provided for all the other pieces (just cut and sew, no pattern pieces needed).

Suggested fabrics: Canvas (cotton, waxed or blended), denim, twill, home dec for exterior. Quilting cotton for lining.

Fabric requirements: 44″ (112 cm) wide fabric: Exterior fabric, 3/4 yd (0.7 m) (or 1/2 yd/0.5 m if not making pouch) // Contrast top/pocket fabric, 1/2 yd (0.5 m) // Zippered pocket lining fabric, 3/4 yd (0.7 m) // Lining fabric, 1/2 yd (0.5 m) // Lining centre panel fabric, fat quarter (18" x 22") // Interior slip pocket fabric, fat quarter (18" x 22") // Handle fabric, 1/4 yd (0.2 m) (or use two 25"/28" pieces of 1" wide leather or two 25"/28" pieces of 1" wide cotton webbing).

Sizing: 

Tote: Finished dimensions: 14" H x 14 1/2" W x 5" D // 23" including handle.

Pouch: Finished dimensions: 7" H x 10 3/4" W.

Notions: 2 1/2 yd of fusible woven interfacing (20" wide); 1 yd of medium weight fusible interfacing (44" wide); 14" zipper for tote; 10" zipper for pouch; 18 mm light-strength thin magnetic snap; two 8 mm grommet sets and grommet setter; three size 24 metal snap sets and snap setter // Optional: 2 1/2" of 1" wide twill tape/ribbon/thin leather; two 1/4" x 5" scraps of leather/ribbon for zipper pulls; 1/4" wide fusible web tape; seam sealant.
