New Look trousers 6005

This is the first pattern I tried when I began dressmaking. It was straightforward and gave my confidence a boost. I was so proud that I had made a pair of trousers, with pockets! The loose fit made it easy to work with and produced a comfy lounge-around type of garment. I don't usually wear clothes with an elasticated waist, but it meant I wasn't worried about constructing a waistband.
I made view B which is a combat-style trouser. I used a pretty floral cotton fabric and was very happy with the result. As far as I can remember the instructions were clear and easy to follow (must have been OK because I well and truly got the dressmaking bug and went on to sew all sorts).
Because I was a complete beginner I didn't really make alterations.
