Buy the Baby/Child/Teen Teddy Sweater, Dress and Playsuit sewing pattern from WISJ Designs. Teddy is a cosy, wide sweater or dress with a curve on the chest and back. It’s an oversized style with cuffed sleeves and a bottom hem band. There is also a dress option with an elastic waist. In the three smallest sizes, there's a playsuit option too.

Suggested fabrics: This is a pattern for stretch fabrics. Sweater fabric, French terry and knit fabric are just fine. The pattern works best when you finish the cuffs, neckband and bottom hem band with ribbing. If you use the same fabric as the sweater/dress/playsuit itself, make sure to cut your cuffs/neckband/bottom hem band a bit longer.
Fabric requirements:
140 cm wide fabric: Sweater: 50 - 120 cm / Sweater dress: 80 - 150 cm / Dress with elastic waist: 80 - 170 cm / Playsuit: 80 - 90 cm // Note: For sizes 12 - 14 years you need a fabric width of 140 cm if you want to cut the top pattern piece in one piece, as it’s almost 140 cm wide.
60 cm wide ribbing: Sweater: 25 - 30 cm / Sweater dress: 25 - 30 cm / Dress with elastic waist: 15 - 25 cm / Playsuit: 15 cm.
Sizing: 9 months - 14 years (playsuit is 9 months - 2 years only). Please check the size chart and finished garment measurements.
Notions: Dress with elastic waist: elastic, 0.5-1 cm wide // Playsuit: elastic, 0.5-1 cm wide; fusible interfacing, two 3 cm x 10 cm pieces.

I love this pattern. Its a fairly simple pattern to sew, but had a great range of sizes and options that it's great value. I think the idea of one universal top piece and the mix-and-match options is kind of genius.
So far I have made 3 jumpers and one elastic waist dress. They are all so adorable. The elastic waist in the dress was a little hard to sew but that was more down to my relative inexperience that the pattern itself. This is a great pattern for using up scraps from my own sewing, I can see all the wee kids in my life getting a jumper at some point! Once I had made the first jumper and gone through all the steps, the next 3 pieces were all super quick makes.
The instructions are good. The pattern can also be printed off in single size layers for those who do A4 printing (copy shop all the way!). I also really like that in the instructions there is a tutorial for making the rainbow like the sample piece, I will defiantly be using that at some point in future. Top-tip - definitely follow the suggestion to top-stitch the curved seam joining the top and bottom. Really makes the loveliest clean finish.
