Suggested fabrics: Medium weight, 4-way stretch knit fabric, with a minimum of 70% horizontal and 50% vertical stretch. 100% stretch in both directions is best! Suitable fabrics include cotton/lycra jersey and many athletic jerseys. This pattern has a lot of negative ease (this means it’s smaller than you are) which creates the traditional tight leggings fit. Because of this, it’s essential your fabric has the correct stretch.

Fabric requirements: 140 cm (55″) wide fabric: Full, 100 - 130 cm (1 1/8 - 1 1/2 yd) // Ankle, 100 - 120 cm (1 1/8 - 1 3/8 yd) // Capri, 90 - 110 cm (1 - 1 1/4 yd) // Bike short, 70 - 100 cm (3/4 - 1 1/8 yd) // Booty short, 50 - 70 cm (5/8 - 3/4 yd).

Sizing: Teen 10 – 20. Please check the size chart. Note the size numbers do not indicate ages. This pattern has a female/curvy fit. A separate pattern with a male/straight fit is available here.

Notions: For elasticated waistband only: maximum of 77 cm (30 3/8") of 38 mm (1 1/2") wide elastic // Optional: maximum of 25 cm (10") of 6 mm (1/4") clear elastic to reinforce pockets.
