Waves & Wild Men's Salt Air Cardigan

Buy the Men's Salt Air Cardigan sewing pattern from Waves & Wild. The Salt Air Cardigan is a slim-fit (but not skinny!) casual cardigan. It comes with two lengths to choose from, fastenings are optional, and of course there are pockets! There is also the option to add a back neck facing for a professional finish.

Suggested fabrics: Medium weight knit fabric, such as cotton/Lycra french terry, sweatshirt fleece, etc. You need fabric with at least 20% stretch, and closer to 50% is best. Lighter fabrics such as cotton/Lycra jersey can be used but will result in a looser fit garment.

This pattern is designed to use the main fabric for all parts of the garment. If you prefer, you can use ribbing for the cuffs, bottom strip and neck strip. Make sure it has excellent stretch and recovery (returns to its original shape and size after stretching) and isn’t too light when compared to your main fabric.

Fabric requirements: 140 cm (55″) wide fabric: Short, 160 – 210 cm (1 3/4 – 2 3/8 yd) // Long, 180 – 240 cm (2 – 2 5/8 yd).

Sizing: XXS – 7XL. Please check the designer’s size chart.

Notions: For optional button/snap closure: a scrap of medium weight fusible interfacing; buttons or snaps, 12 – 20 mm (1/2″ – 3/4″). The number of buttons/snaps will depend on the size and option you are making.
