Buy the Amelia Bomber Jacket sewing pattern from Wardrobe by Me. Amelia is a feminine take on the classic bomber. This lined jacket has a front zipper, set-in sleeves, side pockets, and a ribbed collar, cuffs and hem band.

Suggested fabrics: 

Main: Light- to medium-weight woven or jersey fabric in cotton, rayon, polyester, silk, modal or tencel.

Lining: Light- to medium-weight silk or polyester lining.

Rib: 1x1 or 2x2 rib with 25-40% stretch and excellent recovery.

Fabric requirements: 140 cm (55") wide fabric: Main, 1.3 - 1.9 m (1.5 - 2 yd) // Lining, 1.3 - 1.9 m (1.5 - 2 yd) // Rib, 0.3 - 0.45 m (12"- 18").

Sizing: US 0 – 24 / EU 30 – 54 (approx. UK 6 – 24, based on our standardised size chart). Please also check the designer’s size chart and finished garment measurements.

Notions: 90 cm (35") wide interfacing, 0.6 m (0.75 yd); separating zipper, 45 cm (18") for sizes 0-12/30-42 or 50 cm (20") for sizes 14-24/44-54.

Not without it's challenges

I made the Amelia Bomber Jacket with this super fun cotton poplin from Sew Hayley Jane.

Now, I wish I could say that I loved making this jacket, but unfortunately the truth is that the experience was rather different. Thinking positively, I would say that it was a “skill builder”; for now, I call it a stress inducer!

Thankfully, although not without its tribulations, I think that the finished jacket looks fabulous.
