I see many more Knot Front Dresses in my future!

Trend Patterns.
Trend Patterns are a new to me indie pattern brand. However, I am now the proud owner of two Trend Patterns and counting! It is refreshing to find modern patterns that reflect what is happening on the catwalk in 2022. I have long admired the knot front dresses that appeared in my favourite stores last summer., I planned to make one, but did not want the designs that merely added a tie into the side seams. (It seemed like an easy cheat) I searched in vain for a ‘proper’ pattern that constructed the knot as part of the front panel. Finally in January I discovered this one by Trend Patterns and my love affair began . . .

Sewing the Knot front Dress
A deceptively simple and quick make! I lengthened the sleeves because it is Winter here in the UK.. In summer I will stick to the original pattern and make a longer version in linen.
For this version I chose to make it in a navy, stretch knit fabric that I purchased from Sew Jessali, my local fabric shop. It is cosy, warm and oh so comfy, already a staple in my everyday wardrobe. I want to make a longer winter version in a soft knitted woolen fabric, but have yet to find a suitable and reasonably priced fabric.

Notes On The Pattern
ext time when sewing with a knit fabric I will leave out the pockets. The knit stretches too much when the pockets are inserted and used, thus spoiling the line of this simple garment.
Also (note to self) when using a knit fabric allow for stretch by sizing down. Baggy backsides are not attractive! If I made longer version, I would add a split in the side seams to allow for movement, other than this I enjoyed sewing this pattern and have plans for many many more.
