Buy the Londres Trench Coat and Jacket sewing pattern from Orageuse. Londres is a long, flowing trench coat or short, straight jacket with a modern tailored collar, wide lapels, an asymmetrical shoulder flap, and shoulder tabs. It is unlined, but every inside seam is finished with piping. The trench coat closes simply with a belt. Note the jacket is easier to make than the trench coat (no pockets and less fabric to handle).

What we think: This is a great transitional piece, and it's not too complicated to make due to the lack of lining and fastenings. You'll want to be comfortable sewing with drapey fabrics.

Suggested fabrics: Medium weight woven fabric, either with a loose drape (like lyocell, viscose or microfiber) or with a stiffer drape (like gabardine).

Fabric requirements:

Main: 140 cm (55″) wide fabric: Long version (trench coat), 300 cm (3 1/3 yd) // Short version (jacket), 200 cm (2 1/4 yd).

Lining: 50 x 50 cm (0.6 x 0.6 yd).

Sizing: EU 34 – 46 (approx. UK 6 – 16). Please check the size chart.

Notions: Matching thread // Long version (trench coat): Fusible interfacing, 120 x 120 cm (47.2" x 47.2"); bias for piping, 15 m (590.5") // Short version (jacket): Fusible interfacing, 120 cm wide x 90 cm (47.2" wide x 1 yd); bias for piping, 10.5 m (413.4").

PDF pattern includes: Instructions; pattern files for A0, A4, and US letter size paper.

Londres trench coat and jacket

PDF sewing pattern for a long, flowing trench coat or a short, straight jacket with a restyled tailored collar with wide lapels, an asymetrical shoulder flap, and shoulder tabs. The inside has no lining but every inside seam is decorated with piping. The trench-coat is closed simply by a belt. Really fun to sew and wear.
