Sizing: EU 32 – 56 (approx. UK 6 – 28). Please check the designer's size chart. Use your hip measurement to find your size. The pattern includes 6 cm ease at the hips.

Notions: 70-120 cm of 2-3 cm wide elastic.

PDF pattern includes: Instructions; A4 print-at-home pattern (25 pages); A0 copy shop pattern (1 sheet with overlapping pieces) // Layers: No // Projector file: No.

Melilot Unisex Huy Trousers

I found this PDF impossible to piece together no guidelines on the pages, 13 sizes and not layered! What a waste of money!

Huy pants - Melilot

Paul had been wanting a pair of woven elasticated pants for a while so I was thrilled when the Huy pants pattern was released. I love the double pocket details and that this pattern is un-gendered.

Just a couple of things I did differently to the pattern.

– I cut the back pocket yoke on the fold.
– I didn’t understand the instructions for the waistband so I did my own two-piece waistband and used

I’ve seen people skip the back pockets or add patch pockets both ideas are great. I highly recommend non-roll elastic for waistbands it's worth the bit extra!

3cm wide non-roll elastic. – I didn’t interface the corner of the front pocket which I immediately regretted.
– lengthen the front pockets to hold his huge phone.
– topstitched all the seams to give the fabric more support as it’s a lightweight Tencel denim.

Interesting pockets

I found these trouser to be a quick satisfying make and it is clever how the back pockets are incorporated into the back yoke piece. I had some issues sticking together the pages of the pdf. They didn't seem to match up. Until I realised that a bit hadn't printed at the bottom of the page. Probably just my printer! The construction is straight forward and explained clearly with diagrams. I made one slight change to the pattern, using wider elastic and widening the waistband piece to accommodate. Other than that the pattern fitted perfectly with no adjustments required. I had a request to make another pair within a couple of days, so they are defintely comfortable!
