Buy the Archer Work Pants sewing pattern from Matchy Matchy Sewing Club. These easy-fitting barrel-shaped pants feature special details like oversized askew front pockets and a contrasting inseam panel. There are knee darts on both the front and back legs as well as a back ankle dart, giving these pants their distinctive shape. These elastic waist pants are intended to sit at the natural waist with a relaxed fit in the hip and looser fit through the legs. The length hits above the ankle to further highlight the shape.

An exciting and original design.

I've been sewing a long time so it's unusual to find such an exciting and original design which works.
The instructions are clear. The Matchy Sewing club web site is good too. They stock fabric although I sourced my stripes from Fabrics Galore. Ŵith cutting the gusset and pockets on the cross grain, I got size L out of 1.5 meters of wide stuff.

Two small pieces of interfacing are required and I did not notice these being mentioned before arriving at the instruction to apply them. I would normally finish pocket tops by sewing on the wrong side and bagging out. Their method was fine though.

I'm off to find somewhere to dance the hornpipe!

Fun pair of trousers

I'm happy to see that a very unfriendly review of this pattern has been taken down.

I had no problems whatsoever to make these trousers. They came together easily, even if the leg construction is unique.

I shortened them considerably so that the hem does not end up in the chain of my bicycle.

I also found the rise quite high, but that is a matter of preference. Or perhaps it is my relatively small derriere. But as with every pattern over the years I've learned to adapt pattern to my body.

I also changed the to a foldover jersey, because I hate elastic bands.

I shall certainly make these again.
