Great instructions on this pattern

Men’s shirts are challenging but this is such a helpful pattern. Feel I’ve cracked it and have made three shirts as presents. All the guys are delighted with them. Photos shows one made in Liberty poplin “honeysuckle”

Great classic with all the details

I have made the women’s version of this (Classic Shirt by Liesl and Co.) and the All-Day Shirt is not much different in design, except for the shirttail, pockets, and an option for collar stays.  I left off the pocket flaps because my wearer did not want them, and he wanted something a bit longer and looser to wear over t-shirts.  The original pattern in size L would have fit without those alterations, though. The fabric is a 6-ounce Robert Kaufman chambray flannel, and it made up nicely.  I will probably make another one in a different color and will use a lighter weight fabric for the collar stand facing and the cuff facing, just so there is a bit less bulk. Also, I will do a single row of topstitching 1/4 from the edge on the bulkier flannel.

The directions are very useful, and you can always check other sources to find alternate construction methods.  Best results are achieved by not being in a hurry and taking pride in successfully accomplished details.  The armhole seams are 1/2” but you can add 1/8” when cutting to have 5/8” seam which is easier to work with when flat felling the armhole.  No serger needed!
