Juliette Blouse

The Juliette is a lovely reversed blouse, which buttons up at the back and has a collar detail to the front. This is my first time making an I AM pattern and I found the instructions quite minimal compared to other independent pattern companies, but was still able to follow them. There are a couple of tricky bits where you sew a gathering thread for the shoulders and the sleeves, which means you have to gather until the edges match, on the shoulders, for example. I didn't quite get the collar pieces to meet in the middle on the front of the blouse, so need to pay careful attention to the measurements here. I made this version in viscose which gives it a nice drape but I think it would also work well in a stiffer fabric to give it a boxy shape. I used poppers instead of buttons down the back, which was faster than creating buttonholes and sewing on buttons. I'll definitely be making more, and already have some fabric lined up for my next one!
