Buy the Child/Teen Linville Romper and Dress sewing pattern from Hey June Handmade. The Linville Romper and Dress is a cute and versatile pattern for dressing up or down. Options include cap sleeve or sleeveless tops, a short skirt, maxi skirt, shorts, or trousers. The trousers can be made flat or gathered at the ankle. The back features a simple keyhole opening for easy sewing and easy dressing.

Suggested fabrics: Lightweight drapey wovens with a soft hand such as rayon and polyester blends. Other lightweight wovens such as voile, chambray, or lawn also work but will lay differently.
Fabric requirements:
Shorts or short skirt: 44" (112 cm) wide fabric: 2 yd (1.8 m) // 54″ (137 cm) wide fabric: 2 yd (1.8 m).
Long romper: 44" (112 cm) wide fabric: 3 - 3.5 yd (2.7 - 3.2 m) // 54″ (137 cm) wide fabric: 3 - 3.25 yd (2.7 - 3 m).
Maxi dress: 44" (112 cm) wide fabric: 3 yd (2.7 m) // 54″ (137 cm) wide fabric: 2.5 - 3 yd (2.3 - 2.7 m).
Sizing: 6 - 16 years. Please check the size chart and finished garment measurements.
Notions: 1 pkg. of 1/4" double fold bias tape; 1 yd of 1/2" elastic; 1 shank button; 8" length of thin cording, piping, or similar trim // Optional: Extra yd of elastic for gathered ankle trousers // For a functional drawstring: 1.5 yd of cording or similar trim for a drawstring; a small scrap of fusible interfacing.

Not a pattern for beginners I feel. There are no notches, waist or hip markers, and very small grain line markers. The pattern layout - even accounting for pattern matching and direction of fabric - seems very wasteful. The fabric estimate 0f 3 - 3.25 m was far more generous than needed.
Stating the finished leg length would have been helpful. I had to add a good 6 inches to the long romper leg length for a very average sized, slim 12 yr old, who was 2 inches shorter than the pattern sizing. (Yes, I did carefully cut out and use all the relevant pattern pieces)
Having said all this, the finished result was lovely, but beware the need to measure the child and be prepared to adjust the pattern carefully.

Made this for my very tall 11 yr old niece, and ended up making the 16 with 14 leg length.
I did have to make some pattern alterations from the off as I knew the waist measure would need to be amended and that was the first hiccup as there were no waist and hip markers on the pattern, so I had to guess. It went well though so all’s well that ends well.
The toile came together quickly as the pattern is simple, and apart from needing to move the elasticated waist up by 3.5”, it fit well.
Overall construction: I ended up drafting a facing for the front and back using burrito method to attach. I found the suggested bias binding finish to be just a bit too fiddly, especially around the keyhole at the back. Other than that, and instructions which jumped about a bit, construction was straightforward and it came together well.
Just a shame that standard pattern markings like waist and hip points, CF and CB aren’t marked and the notions list could be far more straightforward.
I’m pleased with the end result but wouldn’t suggest this as a beginner friendly pattern necessarily.
