Buy the V8729 vintage dress sewing pattern from Vogue® Patterns. It’s perfect for an advanced dressmaker. An original 1956 design, this lined dress is close-fitting through the bodice, back extending to forward shoulder. Underskirt A, B: Hook and eyes on yoke, no zipper. Horsehair braid trim at hemline.

Suggested fabrics: A: Chiffon, georgette, point de esprit, voile // Contrast Bodice A: Single-edged scalloped lace // Underskirt, Contrast 2 A, B: Sateen, taffeta // Underskirt B, Lining A, B: Lining fabric.

Note: Unsuitable for obvious diagonals. Fabric requirement allows for nap, one-way design or shading. Extra fabric may be needed to match design or for shrinkage.

Sizing: AA (6-8-10-12), EE (14-16-18-20), approx. UK sizes AA (4/6 – 8), EE (10 – 16). Please check the size chart and finished garment measurements.

Notions: A, B: One 16″ zipper, hook and eye // Underskirt: 3 7/8 yds. of 3″ horsehair braid, three hooks and eyes // Also A: 1 1/4 yds. of 1/4″ cord.
