The Lizzie Skirt

Reviewed by Juska on 2nd June, 2017

This is a simple pleated skirt with a lining and a waistband with the (UK) sizes ranging from 8 to 20.

I have made now two skirts using this pattern. For the first one I used wool crepe and for the second cotton lawn. I did not read the instructions very carefully since I have a lot of experience on sewing this kind of skirts, but they looked clear. The length of the skirt surprised me a bit and I did chop about 10 cm off of the hem. I managed to make the whole skirt (size 10) out of 130 cm of fabric, although I had to omit the pockets.

I like that this is a classic skirt that suits for many occasions and that can be sewn of very different materials. You can always add piping between the waistband and the skirt (like I did) and/or add belt loops or fancy pockets to make it individual. Overall, I great pattern!
