Plaintain Top – Deer & Doe

I’ve sewn the Plantain twice, once in very drapey charcoal jersey and once in cream and grey striped merino wool jersey. It is a very quick sew, probably an hour of active sewing using my serger after the printing/taping/tracing was done. The pattern fits my hourglass -> slightly pear shape very well. I sewed a 40 for the bust and waist, graded to a 42/44 for the hips. I probably could get away with 42 at the hips for a straight line, but the little bit of extra ease gives a slightly swingy look that is also nice. I use this as my TNT t-shirt as the shape fits me much better than others I’ve tried, and I plan to make more in short, long and bracelet length sleeves, and to play with the neckline and maybe adding pleats, gathers or folds.
