Buy the Orion Shorts sewing pattern from French Poetry. You don’t have to give up comfort for the sake of elegance. The Orion Shorts are as easy to wear as your denim shorts, but they will give your outfit a much more polished look. I’ve always loved vintage cuts, and this one reminds me of old movies, bicycle rides and afternoons on the beach…

These pleated shorts have side buttons or a side invisible zipper, darts in the back, and an optional invisible pocket on the right side.

– PDF (available to download immediately after purchase). What is a PDF?

– PDF pattern + Printed A0 copy shop (We print out the A0 pattern sheets, but you’ll need to download the digital instructions, as we don’t print these. The PDF files will be emailed immediately after purchase, and the A0 pattern sheets will be dispatched next working day). What is Copy Shop?

Suggested fabrics: Broadcloth, chambray, lightweight denim, poplin, chino, seersucker, linen, crepes, suiting fabric. Different fabrics will create very different looks. Make sure your fabric doesn’t crease easily – this is important for professional-looking shorts.

Fabric requirements: 60″ (152 cm) wide fabric: 1.09 yards (1 m) // 44″ (112 cm) wide fabric: 1.20 yards (1.1 m) // Lining for the pocket: a very small amount – you can use scraps!

Sizing: US 2 – 16 (approx. UK 6 – 16). Please check the size chart.

Notions: Matching thread; interfacing in the right weight for your fabric; lining for the pocket if you choose to have it; four 0.6″ (1.5 cm) buttons or a 10″ (25 cm) invisible zipper.

PDF pattern includes: Illustrated sewing instructions; A4 (print at home) pattern; A0 (copy shop) file.
