Nettie Dress and Bodysuit

Reviewed by Nandi on 20th May, 2017

I’ve made the Bodysuit twice and I LOVE this pattern. It was the first one I made when I started sewing clothes, I’ve just made another one and I’m planning to do more.

The pattern is easy enough to cut out and assemble, as the instructions are very clear. The first time doing this I struggles with the neckband, but there is a very helpful step-by-step tutorial series on the closet case files blog.

Several things to notice about my versions: The second one I made I changed the neckline to be wider and deeper than the scoop neck, as I have a fairly large chest I prefer scoop and V-necklines. I also decided to grade in between two sizes in order to get the width in the chest area.

So I think this is an excellent beginner pattern, not just to learn about sewing jersey/knits, but also to learn about how to make alterations.
