I made version E (short sleeves, scoop neck, slightly above knee lenght) of McCall’s 7432. I used a very comfortable striped cotton knit. It was easy to sew, especially with my overlocker.
I’d say it’s a beginner’s project indeed. However, the sizing was a little off (I should’ve used a smaller size than the table said) for me, and I needed to do a sway back adjustment. This was the first time I did so, and I ended up adapting it so it has a seam in the back (the stripes are crooked because of that, but I don’t mind it too much). It was quite a pain to get all the stripes to match up across the back!
Since then I’ve gotten some tips for a sway back adjustment, so the next time I’ll adapt the pattern differently. But all in all it’s a super comfortable dress (secret pyjama’s) and I tend to wear it a lot! More information and pictures can be found on my blog in Dutch: McCall’s 7432.
