Buy the Marte Coat sewing pattern from Melilot. Marte is a versatile everyday coat with an oversized fit, dropped shoulders, and hidden pockets in the side seams. This unlined coat works well all year long in different fabrics.

This sewing pattern is available to buy in the following formats:

– PDF (available to download immediately after purchase). What is a PDF?

– PDF pattern + Printed A0 copy shop (We print out the A0 pattern sheets, but you’ll need to download the digital instructions, as we don’t print these. The PDF files will be emailed immediately after purchase, and the A0 pattern sheets will be dispatched next working day). What is Copy Shop?

Note: In the A0 version, pattern pieces overlap. If you choose copy shop printing, we will send you extra copies of the pattern sheet so you do not need to trace.

Suggested fabrics: A medium weight fabric in cotton, linen or wool is recommended, but the pattern also works well with heavy weight woven fabrics or knits. If you choose a knitted fabric, remember to use stretch seams. Beginners will benefit from a firm woven fabric, as it is easier to work with.

Fabric requirements: 140 cm wide fabric: Sizes 32-36, 2.2 m // Sizes 38-46, 2.3 m // Sizes 48-52, 2.5 m // Sizes 54-64, 3.2 m.

Sizing: EU 32 – 64 (approx. UK 6 – 34/36, based on our standardised size chart). Please also check the designer’s size chart and finished garment measurements.

Notions: 50 cm of fusible interfacing for collar and facing (optional); 50 cm of narrow ribbon or elastic to anchor pockets.
