Lisboa Dress and Top PDF

Buy the Lisboa dress and top sewing pattern from Orageuse, a relaxed fit with item with cut out detail at the back. The pattern has a boat-neckline at the front and a v-neck at the back and pleating into the should seams at the front. There are two options for  the back opening using a band or tied with a ribbon.

What we think: this is a great simple top & dress pattern with some interesting details.

Suggested Fabrics: Light to medium weight soft woven fabric: e.g. viscose, crepe & tencel.

This sewing pattern is available in PDF format.

5 out of 5 Lisboa Dress by Orageuse

    Holly Stevens

So Orageuse is a new pattern company for me, I was looking for a chic, party dress pattern I could fit into 1.5m of crepe fabric and using The Foldline’s website I found this little beauty – The Lisboa dress and top.

It’s a PDF only pattern, so some cutting and sticking is required I’m afraid! (Or an order with the local copyshop!) It’s a relaxed fit style dress or top with a soft pleat at the shoulder, little cap sleeves or a longer sleeve option, and two different V-back necklines, a shorter more bra friendly V-back or a deep dramatic option. As this going to be a party dress for my partner’s 30th birthday – I went for the deep V-back option!

I cut out the size 36, this ended up pretty true to size and I actually didn’t make any adjustments to the pattern whatsoever! It was really quick and easy to sew together and the instructions are great, just enough detail for a sewer that’s made a couple of garments before. The diagrams are lovely and clear with all the pattern pieces clearly labelled at every stage.

    Happy sewing,

    Holly x

    Lisboa dress and top

The Lisboa pattern comes with two versions – a top and a dress, which are both quite beautiful.
I decided to start by sewing the top and used the pdf-pattern (size 34).
The sewing instructions were easy to understand. I only struggled by understanding the illustration how to insert the cap sleeves, but I finally managed to attach them. I didn’t make any alterations and the top fits perfectly.
I can highly recommend the pattern and plan to make the dress – version in summer.

The Lisboa top was a really fun quick sew – it’s simple, but with enough design to keep it interesting. I made a muslin and discovered that the arm holes are too deep – they’ll show your bra – so I raised them by 1.5 inches. I found the instructions on inserting the back strap slightly confusing, but managed to figure it out. I shared the details on my blog (along with a full review.)
