Kalispell Dress PDF

Itch to Stitch

Buy the Kalispell Dress PDF sewing pattern from Itch to Stitch. With a touch of vintage and a touch of modern, the Kalispell Dress makes you feel like a goddess any way you view it. Designed with front and back princess seams in the bodice and a full skirt with inverted box pleats, this fit-and-flare dress is flattering to many body types and sizes. You can choose to keep it at midi length, or lengthen or shorten the skirt using instructions included for a different look. The dress features: options for A, B, C, D and DD cups, options for cap sleeves and flare sleeves, V-neck, front button closure with band, bodice front and back princess seams, full skirt with inverted box pleats and ample in-seam pockets.

Suggested fabrics: for the main fabric use lightweight to medium weight woven fabric. Twill, broadcloth, chambray, and linen are great choices. Do not use fabric narrower than 56” (142 cm); the front and back skirts are too wide to be cut on narrower fabric. For the lining use lightweight, stable woven fabric such as cotton. The bodice is not lined, but the lining is used for the pockets.

Fabric requirements: 140cm wide fabric (not suitable for narrower fabrics) // Cap sleeve option 2.4 (2 5/8 yards) – 2.6m (2 7/8 yards), Flare sleeve option 2.6 (2 7/8 yards) – 2.9m (3 1/8 yards). Lining 115cm wide fabric – 40cm (3/8 yards). Interfacing 50cm wide – 1.2m (1 3/8 yards).

Sizing: US 00 – 20 (approx. UK 8 – 22). Please check the size chart and finished garment measurements.

Notions: lightweight to medium weight fusible woven or weft insertion interfacing, x9 1/2” (1.25 cm) buttons or snaps and 47” (120 cm) of 1/2” (1.25 cm)-wide fusible stay tape (or cut your own on straight grain).

5 out of 5 Beautiful dress!

The Kalispell dress appealed to me as soon as I saw it – I love a full skirted dress, and I think the V neck and front button bands are really pretty.

This was the first Itch to Stitch pattern that I’ve made and I was really impressed with it – the instructions were very detailed and the sizing was good (the different cup sizes definitely helps with that). It’s not the quickest pattern to sew, but it also isn’t too complicated – it’s just there are more pieces to put together and some of the steps (such as attaching the button band) need you to take your time to get a nice finish. I didn’t have any problems during the construction of the dress.

I made a couple of small changes – one fitting change (lengthened the bodice, which is a standard adjustment for me), and one slight change to the sewing process so that I could leave hemming the skirt until I could try the dress on and adjust the length if necessary. In terms of length – this is the skirt length from the pattern, but with a slightly larger hem and it comes to knee length on me (I’m about 5’9″) rather than the midi length intended by the pattern.
