The Fold Line

A wardrobe staple, this camisole top is perfect for pairing with your jeans. With armhole darts, it is fitted around the bust but drapes beautifully around the upper hip area – no need for a flat tummy! There is also a bias ribbon tie detail at the back, slits at the side seams for a great fit on all body shapes.

Make the HELLO SAILOR top in a light weight cotton, cotton lawn, shirting or rayon (for the perfect drape).

I will definatelly be making more of this top! It fits nicely with its loosen fit at the bottom that helps to hide some extra kgs. The pattern is simple, and so is the sewing. Even using french sew, I finished mine in about 3 hours. The only complicated part for me was the bidding that requires some patience but it can easily work as a meditation moment! A great addition to my summer’s wardrobe.

I agree with the previous reviewer; this pattern was easy to piece together and just as easy to stitch. The instructions were clear with beautiful images.
I don’t know what fabric I used because I liberated it from someone’s stash a while ago. There is no stretch to it. I had to cut on the cross grain tho because she hadn’t left a lot (rude)! It has resulted in beautiful blue horizontal stripes (I didn’t just copy the original!)
The fit is great except I should have done a FBA (I have to for all patterns) but I didn’t because I was being lazy, so the bust is a little tight, but otherwise the fit and shape is lovely.
I’d definitely recommend this for a beginner & will definitely make another as my handmade wardrobe is lacking casual tops for jeans/shorts.

So far this is the eassiest pdf pattern assembling i ever done, and the instruction is very helpfull and easy to follow. The fit is great, fit right away without any alteration and i wouldn’t change that. I use cotton traditional batik and just simply follow thw instuction without any modification. Was looking for a something basic for my handmade wardrobe and i think i found one now ?
