Twig and Tale

For woodland rambles or skipping along the shoreline, these comfortable, easy-to-wear culottes are ready for play and made to move. Deep, functional pockets provide space for all the day’s little collected treasures. Flowy wide legs, soft front pleats, a contoured, flat-front waistband, and a channeled elastic back create a beautiful fit. Child with sensory issues? We have included an optional yoga-style “sensory waistband” made from soft knit fabric, for extra comfort.

Suggested Fabrics;
Lightweight wovens: linen, cotton, chambray, double gauze, muslin, lawn, viscose rayon. For a special occasion skirt try satin, chiffon, or silk.
Midweight wovens suit the shorter lengths better: pinwale cord, velveteen, drill, quilting cotton.

Optional – lightweight interfacing for front waistband (knitted or woven are best but non-woven would work)

The following amounts are for the elastic-back waistband version. The amounts given are for non-directional fabrics.
Add 8″ (20cm) to any length for waist ties
Remove 6″ (15cm) from any length if cutting a knit waistband
Sizes; ages 12-18mths – 10 yrs
