Buy the Chelsea Party Dress sewing pattern from Amy Nicole. The Chelsea Party Dress is an empire waist, gathered and flared dress with a plunging neckline and open back. This pattern offers two views. View A is a shorter, flirty above-the-knee length. View B adds a panel for a beautiful, dramatic maxi length. This pattern prefers lighter weight fabrics with good drape, but more structured fabrics could work for the bodice pieces.

Suggested fabrics: Light to medium weight fabrics with great drape and no stretch, such as crepe de chine, rayon, chiffon, lightweight tencel, and similar.

Fabric requirements: This dress was made for colour blocking! The fabric requirements are thus given in sections. If you are making a solid dress, simply add up the requirements for each section.

Bust: 45″ (114 cm) wide fabric: 1.25 – 1.75 yd (1.2 – 1.6 m) // 54″ (137 cm) wide fabric: 1 – 1.75 yd (0.91 – 1.6 m).

Skirt: 45″ (114 cm) wide fabric (sizes 0-14 only, sizes 10-14 cut on the cross grain): 1.1 – 1.4 yd (1 – 1.3 m) // 54″ (137 cm) wide fabric (sizes 30 and 32 cut on the cross grain): 1.1 – 1.6 yd (1 – 1.5 m) // 60″ (152 cm) wide fabric (sizes 16-32): 1.1 yd (1 m).

Hem A: 54″ (137 cm) wide fabric (sizes 24-32 cut on the cross grain): 0.7 – 1.7 yd (0.6 – 1.5 m) // 60″ (152 cm) wide fabric: 0.7 yd (0.6 m).

Hem B: 54″ (137 cm) wide fabric (sizes 0-10 only, sizes 8 and 10 cut on the cross grain): 1.5 – 1.75 yd (1.4 – 1.6 m) // 60″ (152 cm) wide fabric (sizes 12-32 cut on the cross grain): 1.5 – 2.25 yd (1.4 – 2 m).

Sizing: US 0 – 32 (approx. UK 6 – 32, based on our standardised size chart). Please also check the designer’s size chart and finished garment measurements.

Note: Sizes 0 – 14 are drafted for a B cup. Sizes 16 – 32 are drafted for a D cup. All Amy Nicole patterns are drafted for petites (for women 5’4″ and under). Taller ladies may need to add length using the guides provided.

Notions: One 7″ – 9″ invisible zipper; 1/2 yd woven interfacing; one hook and eye; 1 yd of 1/4″ elastic.
