Bobby Dress review

Reviewed by nightingaleanddolittle on 1st August, 2019

The Bobby dress is a simple shape, but feels lovely to wear and as it’s a pattern for knit fabrics it’s obviously incredibly comfy to wear. As another reviewer has mentioned, it would be easy to dress up or down depending on the fabric you used and accessories.
The instructions were mainly very good – I got slightly confused about the burrito method for attaching the outer bodice to the lining, but Seamwork have a video tutorial that explains it very clearly.
I made the size recommended for my measurements and it fits really nicely, with just my standard adjustment of lengthening the bodice slightly. I debated shortening the skirt to knee length but decided to keep the midi length from the pattern and I’m glad I did because it swishes about beautifully as I walk. For reference, I’m about 5’9″ and this is the skirt length straight from the pattern.
I made it in a light weight cotton jersey, which is great for this summery version.
I think I’ll wear this dress a lot, and I can definitely see myself making more Bobby dresses!
