I made the Alexandria Peg Trousers and I love the result. These are a simple peg leg pant with an elasticated waist (brilliant for fitting), but Named have elevated their design with small but cool details like an exaggerated pleat and a fabulous deep pocket.

I full expected these to need many adjustments, but they actually fit very well for a first pair! I took some length off (3 inches) as Named typically drafts for a taller person than me, but I actually didn’t need to in this case and will add some back.

The instructions were great and I managed to sew them up in an evening, so it’s a fast sew that can be made in either woven or knit fabrics.

Alexandria Peg Trousers & Track Shorts

These trousers are super comfy, and they were pretty straight forward to make because of the elasticated waist.
I had some trouble with the pockets lining up to the notches on the front pieces but that didn’t affect the finish of the trousers.
They were more loose fitting around the lower leg than I thought, although I think this might be because of the size I made.
Overall I’m pretty happy with this pattern and I would recommend this pattern!

I made no alterations to the trousers. The pleating in the front is such a beautiful detail! It gets a bit lost in this print, but I still love it!

I did have some issues with the trousers regarding the size. According to my body measurements, I would fit in a size 44, but looking at the finished garment measures, it placed me in a size 38. So I sewed a toile in size 44, which turned out to be too big. Because I was a bit lazy in making another toile, to play it safe I made a size 40. It was still big, so I just took in the side seams and the crotch.

Very comfortable wheter in knit or woven, the pleats drape beautifully (but I would recommend light fabrics to avoid extra bulk at the pocket area). Blog post pants version hacked into jumpsuit and shorts version turned jumpsuit and
