Wren Dress – Colette

Fitting this dress was a bit of a struggle for me, but otherwise I was very happy with this pattern! The instructions are good, and I like the style of this dress. The neckline sits very nicely, it doesn’t gape (may be because I added some clear elastic to the edges to keep them close to the body – I read this on a blog somewhere).

My main fitting issue was that the bodice somehow ended up being much too long on the front – but only in some places. I think this was resolved by doing a small bust adjustment (sba), but I still had to remove some length. I also needed to lengthen the pattern in the bodice, and I thought the best way to do it was to add a waistband. Finally, I thought the skirt portion was very tight on me, and not in a pretty way, so I sized up around the hips and that worked out well!
