Vogue 9253: THAT dress with the plunge

If you have been on Instagram at any point in the last few months you are sure to have seen many versions of this dress and its not hard to see why. It is a super simple sew, and flattering to boot. I made a size 12 and shortened it by about 5 inches as it is made for a giant, but made no other changes.

The fabric I used is quilting cotton from Raystitch, not my usual choice for dressmaking but it worked really well with this pattern. The slightly stiffer fabric gives the skirt a nice hold and makes me feel like I am secure despite the low front.

Unfortunately, as I made it at the end of the warm weather I haven’t had much chance to wear it but I’m looking forward to being able to swan about in it this summer.
