Vintage Shirt Dress

This is a lovely pattern! I spent a lot of time working on the fit of the bodice and made quite a few adjustments to the bodice pattern and I’m so pleased with the results. The pattern instructions are clear and the drafting is excellent. The fitting of the notched collar came together easily, although I hadn’t quite snipped the curves in exactly the same way so do take care in that regard if you are thinking of making this pattern! I managed to fix it so it isn’t noticeable but I’ll be sure to take more care next time.

I really took my time with this so it spanned over a week of odd evening and some of the weekend. I usually sew in a rush but I enjoyed taking this project slow and I think it shows in the results.

The pattern is listed as a intermediate pattern which I’d say is accurate given the techniques involved, but as the instructions are so good I would definitely recommend this to a beginner who is wanting to up their skills.
