Very Disappointing

The pattern description states:

“The real joy of this pattern is that it only has one piece, and a mere three seams”

What is fails to mention is that for all except the two smallest sizes, the pattern won’t actually fit on the fabric.  What you’re expected to do is cut a piece out of you fabric, sew it onto the main piece, then cut out the dress. I imagine that this alters the way it hangs (a sewing friend confirms that it will), and I can only assume that stripes and directional prints would be out of the question. As an absolute beginner (part of the reason I chose this ‘simple’ pattern) this all sounds a bit daunting. I absolutely would not have purchased this pattern if any of this had been mentioned in the description. I also have no idea how to cut out and attach a loop for the button fastening. Frankly, I might as well have thrown £17 in the bin as spent it on this pattern I’m never going to make.
