Ultimate Trousers

This is my second pair of Ultimate Trousers and I’m now a bit addicted to this pattern!

I bought this fabric from the Sew Over It store as I didn’t feel confident buying the right fabric independently. I do love this fabric as it’s thick and means the fabric has a bit of a stiffness to it.

This was my first Sew Over It pattern and I absolutely loved the instructions. It was just so simple to understand and by far the best instructions on a pattern I’ve had. It was just simple and easy. The first time I made the trousers I really struggled with the invisible zip on the curve, but it turned out just to be a one off as the second time it went in straight away with no problem. I also had to go up a size higher than I normally do and then bring in my seams to fit. But once I figured out the perfect fit it was very quick to recreate it on a second pair.

I did learn that due to the band which is folded on the inside I had to allow some give on the waistline before adding this otherwise I found it ended up too tight around the waist. These trousers just finish on my hips which I think is the intention of the pattern.

Overall a fabulous pattern which I could see myself making again and again. I just wish they had pockets. If Sew Over It released a hack to include them I would be on it straight away!
