The sleeves of your dreams

A review of Fibre Mood Norma Blouse

I found the Norma top to be a straightforward make but big on impact. Those sleeves are definitely the star of the show – I used a quilting cotton from my stash which was perfect for keeping the volume of the sleeves. I think it would still work nicely in something drapier but would have  a more relaxed effect.

I cut a straight size EU 40 / UK 12 and make no adjustments – as the bodice is fairly loose and there are no bust darts I took a chance it would fit. It came out true to size.

I bought the pattern in edition 9 of Fibre Mood and luckily I worked out that I had to add the seam allowances when I traced out. (I’m pretty sure that the pdf pattern The Foldline has the seam allowances included). To be honest adding seam allowance was the trickiest bit of the make – but the instructions were clear which distance to allow and where.

Happy sewing! x
