The Eve Dress – Sew Over It

A review of Sew Over It Eve Dress

Although I did a pretty mighty ruffle hack, this is a Sew Over It Eve dress with curved front and ruffle added to the front and hem.

This is the third time I have made the Eve dress and it won’t be my last. It’s probably up there as my favourite pattern – it’s so flattering!

I cut around 10cm off the length of the pattern and added a ruffle made from a rectangle approx twice as wide as the hem and 12cm deep (including seam allowances). I curved only the front skirt piece as I didn’t want to flash too much whilst wearing this! I also leveled the skirt out before attaching the ruffle although a high-low hem would look lovely too.

The ruffle ended up being about 6m long (!) so next time I’d probably make it slightly less ruffley but I do love how this turned out.

For reference the fabric used is a navy viscose and I used around 4m.

For a more detailed explanation of how I did this hack I have written about it on my blog 🙂 http://helloyellowclub.com/sew-over-it-eve-dress-with-ruffle-hack/
