I have made three of these so far – two for me and one for my niece.

In true Merchant and Mills style the pattern is like a wonderful jigsaw that slowly comes together.  The instructions are clear and precise and the whole sewing experience is very rewarding.  I would rate it as an intermediate sew – but I see no reason why a thoughtful beginner couldn’t easily use this pattern.

I made a size larger than I usually do with M&M patterns because it made them extra roomy.  I added a row of elastic, hand sewed to the inside of the back waist seam, just to pull the extra fabric in when standing as it makes them more comfortable as I have a very straight figure.

This one is in 11oz Kojima Denim from Merchant and Mills and is perfect for the pattern.  It sews up beautifully.  My first was in their 8 oz Organic Sanded Twill which was also great to sew and is a lighter weight for warmer weather.
