Size made: 12 with 1″ FBA using Maria Denmark’s easy no-dart turn-and-slide FBA method, and adding 1cm to CF length. Also took 0.5cm off neck binding.
Fabric: lightweight cotton lawn, used just 1.25m x 150cm
I love this pattern – I think it’s got great lines, and I bet drafting such a plain but perfect top is not as simple as it looks. In all honesty, I don’t think the boxy shape is the most flattering if you have a shape that needs an FBA, but I love it anyway! I’d definitely use a drapey fabric though – my toile was in a stiffer fabric and didn’t look nearly as good. I didn’t get the neckline totally flat, and might take a little more off the binding next time. I French seamed all the seams, even the armholes – my first time using French seams, and I’m really proud of them! The tutorial on the Grainline Studio website is great.
In short, a great staple addition to any wardrobe!
