When I first saw the Nicks dress I knew it was a pattern I wanted to make up right away and here is my version. I have made it in a Liberty Tana lawn. This pattern is very fabric hungry requiring nearly 5 meters of fabric for this longer version though with a bit of juggling of the pattern pieces I have nearly a metre spare for another project so it is possible to get away with slightly less fabric in my opinion. Like all Closet core patterns the instructions are clear and comprehensive although there does seem to be an error in the pattern on the part for constructing the cuff which has you making it inside out. This is easily corrected but irritating. There is a lot of gathering for the three tiers and I would suggest doing the bottom tier at least in two parts rather than trying to get the gathers all the way round. I have french seamed the insides and I love the way this dress has turned out . I’m giving it 4 stars rather than 5 for the cuff error instructions but otherwise a very enjoyable make.
