New Look Women’s and Men’s Shirts 6197

I made the mens version in XS for my boyfriend in Liberty Tana Lawn. I’ve made revere collar items before and found them pretty simple, but some of the pattern markings and instructions with this pattern made the construction a little more difficult than I was expecting.

Overall I (and more importantly my boyfriend – he thought I’d bought it!) like the shirt, although if I was making it again, I think I would shorten, and possibly narrow, the sleeves as they look at little out of proportion with the smallest size. I imagine on larger sizes they would look ok without adjustment. I might also look at narrowing or shortening the collar to make the revere a bit more equal in size as I think it would look make the shirt a little less holiday and a little more fashion.
