Love this dress, and just wanted to share what I did for the benefit of any other taller people with longer arms and broad square shoulders. I’m only 171 but with broad shoulders and an average to small bust, I have had so many problems trying to find a dress shape that suits me. Finally, I found this one. I added 2cm on the back of the yoke, 1cm to the front, to keep my torso looking compact. Added 3 cm to the sleeves and 7cm to the length. I also raised the level of the waist to almost an empire line and used elastic instead of a tie. Oh and to make it a real work dress I added pockets big enough for keys, pens, phone etc.. a bit lower down on the hip, so the extra volume would remain hidden. I used a medium-weight wool flannel which was a bit of a gamble as the pattern talks about light and drapey…. but I’m glad I experimented. It was really easy to sew up, and I’m pleased to finally have a new work dress.
