This is the third Mayfair dress that I’ve made and I think it’s now one of my favourite dress patterns. I love that you can dress it up or down.
It only has a few pattern pieces and is deceptively quick to sew up. I love the draping around the neckline and the depth of the neckline works really well.
This version is in a stretch velvet and the only changes I made to the pattern were to add 4 inches to the length to make it midi length and to add a narrow cuff instead of topstitching the sleeve hem as it would have marked the velvet. I also used a blind hem stitch when I was hemming the skirt.
