Midsummer Night’s Dream Dress & Top

I’ve made a few Papercut Patterns and they’re all lovely. Beautifully designed and packaged, and instructions that are clear and easy to follow. This dress didn’t take very long at all to make, and was pretty straightforward. The skirt is fairly full and flowing, and the top is slightly blousy. It’s a wrap dress, so it’s cosy and easy to wear but the cut still looks elegant. I made the pattern pretty much as-is. I did find the bodice initially a little loose under the arms, giving slight more of a peek at my bra than I wanted and a bit much risk of flashing for comfort. So I added a couple of tucks in at the sides, one at and one just below the bust along the armhole to fix that. It shouldn’t be a problem for most people, though, only those of us who are very much on the flat chest end and don’t fill the bodice out. Other than that it was an easy and quick make.
Overall I really liked the pattern and love the dress. It’s probably not for a complete beginner, but once you’ve got the basics of sewing down this dress is easy.
