McCalls Top 7542

The McCall’s flounce top is one of those patterns where I want to make every version and in every colour. It’s bang on trend for 2017, can be made all sorts of lovely seasonal fabrics, and is pretty easy to sew up.

Pattern

The top is at first glance, quite short in the bodice, it is described as being semi-fitted, and has simple bust and back shoulder darts. It’s main draw for me was the very fancy and flouncy sleeve variations that it comes with. There is a mid arm length split one, two shorter; frillier ones, a pleated one and a long oversized flounce one. I made the short flounce one (version D), which is a shorter circle flounce piece and makes the sleeve length just around the elbow. The other great thing about this pattern is that it has pattern pieces for different bust sizes which means easier fitting! Woop!
