Marie Gathered Midi Dress & Top

I made the Marie dress from lightweight cotton with a print that would not be too overwhelming. The instructions were great and this was straightforward to sew. I made size 40 based on the size chart, which is my usual Named size. When I’d finished the dress I decided I wanted it shorter, so I took it apart at the waistline and removed some length from the skirt. I also took in the side seams a bit.

I am so happy with this dress. It is so easy and comfortable to wear and I love it for smart casual events like lunch with the girls.
