Makes a lovely shacket!

A review of Lenaline Patterns Diana Dress and Coat

Reviewed by Mel Forrest on 31st October, 2021

I was looking for a shacket pattern for this beautiful cut of flannel and the Diana dress had all the features I wanted – a boxy shape, curved hem, pockets and proper collar and placket.

I have sewn many shirts and somehow the Diana instructions didn’t seem particularly intuitive – I also didn’t find the illustrations very helpful when I needed clarification on a couple of the steps, which is why I have only given the pattern 4 stars. I wouldn’t recommend the Diana for beginner sewists, but if you have experience of making similar garments you will be fine.

I made my shacket in a size 10 and I love the fit, although I would have preferred the sleeves to be a bit longer and would add and couple of inches to the pattern piece if I make another.

I’m really pleased with my finished shacket and have already worn in a few times. You can read more about it and see more photos over on my blog here.
