Lovely dress but not for beginners.

A review of Sew Liberated Stasia Dress and Tee

The Sew Liberated Stasia caught my eye because of its low sweeping necklines (back and front) and the pointed waistline seam thats easily missed unless you see the line drawings. I managed to get the short sleeved dress with a reasonably full skirt out of just 2 metres!

I like the finished product, but the instructions were unclear in places – I would say it’s definitely not for beginners. Sometimes they missed the vital point of the step they describe such as the pivot at the point of the bodice or how to add the neckband. Without having done them with other patterns, I think I’d have struggled.

The sizing charts are also unclear. I don’t know if the charts were finished garment measurements or body measurements. I took a guess at the latter and had to nip it in significantly at the waist when finished.

I do think this pattern will be a staple now I’ve got it fitted. It’s great to throw on and look put together, and I’ll be making a maxi and a long sleeve version. But don’t make it your first foray into knits…
